Have you ever wondered what it would be like to build your own guitar? Or wanted to get a better handle on how to maintain your own instrument? This week’s workshop is all about helping you understand a guitar or bass from the ground up. You’ll even leave on Friday with one of your very own. Students will assemble their own guitar or bass under the supervision of an experienced workshop counselor. In doing so, important aspects of an instrument’s functionality and knowledge of proper care and maintenance will be valuable lessons learned throughout the week. And while the paint is drying and/or the solder is cooling we’ll offer workshops on things like proper restringing method, basic cleaning, and fundamentals of instrument care as well as music themed games and activities. Students should bring their own snacks and lunches during the week, with the exception of Thursday when we will order pizza for all the kids. Because we’ll need to order some of the materials ahead of time to ensure they’re here for the students on their first day, students should be enrolled no later than March 17, 2018.
