Rookies Workshop August 2, 2019

Ear training, song structure, rhythm patterns and group playing are all part of this week-long introduction to music. In this camp, students will learn about all the different rock instruments and begin their introduction to music theory and music appreciation. This summer camp is designed for 5-7 year old students who have little to no experience with music. This five-day camp runs Monday through Friday with a performance at the end of the last day. We’re committed to helping kids experience what playing in a band is really like, so portions of the latter days are dedicated to team building, poster design, album art, and the always daunting task of coming up with a band name. Campers should bring their own snacks and lunches during the week, with the exception of Thursday when we will order pizza for all the kids. Camp will conclude on Friday afternoon with a live performance of 6-10 songs at a local venue.
