Heavy Metal Workshop August 16, 2019

This year, we thought it might be fun to offer a camp designed specifically for more experienced players between the ages of 12-17 years old, and we’re doing so with a salute to Heavy Metal. Because of the intricate parts and more complicated arrangements in metal music, we’re recommending that campers have about 2 years of experience on their respective instruments to maximize the experience. This camps pays tribute to all things METAL! We are going to learn songs from the likes of Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Avenged Sevenfold, Ghost and more! From the 60's and 70's on, heavy metal changed rock and roll for the better and we have tons of incredible artists to honor during this camp week. With this camp, like so many of our others, we’re committed to helping kids experience what playing in a band is really like, so portions of the latter days are dedicated to things like team building, poster design, album art, and the always daunting task of coming up with a band name. Campers should bring their own snacks and lunches during the week, with the exception of Thursday when we will order pizza for all the kids. Camp will conclude on Friday afternoon with a live performance of 6-10 songs at a local venue.
